Clinical Pioneer
As a Co-Founder of Synaptive Medical, Dr. Kassam and his team published the seminal feasibility, safety, and clinical applications study on the Modus V robotic system: a 200-patient series that established the clinical evidence base for what was, at the time, the most advanced robotic platform in neurosurgery. The system captures patient anatomy via MRI and guides surgeons during operations with an automated robotic arm, enabling minimally invasive surgery tailored to each patient.

Every technology Dr. Kassam has built traces back to a problem identified in the operating room. The Expanded Endonasal Approach required better visualization, leading to exoscopic robotic systems. Deep brain surgery required safer access, leading to port-based parafascicular techniques guided by the White Matter Chassis atlas.
